Learn some simple rules and techniques to get your mind, and your tools, around the sublime shapes of a Scandinavian inspired eating spoon.

This class is aimed at intermediate carvers, those who have already learnt the basic knife grips and have some experience carving spoons.

Using a prepared blank, we'll start by studying the design and learning how the form comes together when we match, blend and harmonise the top and side profile. We'll use an easy to follow sequence that helps you navigate and orientate your carving as you home in on the form.

We'll cover Techniques to get in tight at the neck creating smooth flowing transitions, as well as refining the bowl and rim of the spoon to make it perfect for use.

This class is currently held at Stepney City Farm, Stepney Way, E1 3DG.
