Axing Crank (Intermediate / Advanced Level)
Axing Crank (Intermediate / Advanced Level)
Saturday 8th March - 1pm - 4pm
Learn safe and efficient way to split out billets and use a hatchet to axe out a spoon blank with crank.
Using tried and tested techniques, you will learn all you need to turn a bit of branch wood or log into a cranked spoon blank with a sharp carving axe.
If you want complete creative freedom when carving spoons, the axe is your ultimate tool. When you learn to carve with an axe, you gain a sense of the grain of the wood. It's a fantastic tool for shaping objects three-dimensionally and, unlike a bandsaw, you can pack it in a backpack. The skills you'll learn on this class will be totally transferable.
This class is currently held at Stepney City Farm, Stepney Way, E1 3DG. Please note: this is not Hackney City Farm
ADULTS ONLY
All course bookings are non refundable, and class dates cannot be transferred for any reason once booked.
